Winter Training 2007/8 Dates for the junior winter training this year are as follows:- Sunday 4th November 2007 Development squad (league matches) Montrose Prospects squad (coaching) Monifieth Saturday/Sunday 17/18 November Development Squad (club yardages) Monifieth. Sunday 25th November Development squad (league matches) Panmure Barry Prospects squad (coaching) Monifieth Sunday 10th February Development squad (league Matches) Burnside Prospects squad (coaching) Monifieth Sunday 9th March Development Squad (league matches) Kirrie (tbc) Prospects squad (coaching) Monifieth. In addition, some of the development squad members will be invited to join the senior squad in coaching/psychology sessions at Kirriemuir on 22nd and 29th January.



Squads - training focus for 2007/8 As a group, the development squad will focus on two main areas this winter. Firstly - matchplay skills and teamwork. Playing with different parters each time, the girls will play a 4 ball better ball winter league and brush up on their matchplay skills. Points will be awarded to the match winners each time and there will be a prize for the highest points scorers overall. Secondly - course management through yardage measurement. Each member of the squad will work our how far they hit each club, and then apply their learning over different course and weather conditions. In addition, each squad member has their own individual goal for their winter training and we will support each of them towards achieving this. The prospects squad will, through coaching, continue to master their basic skills in a bid to ready them for movement towards the development squad for next year.
