The weather was atrocious. Northerly winds, cold temperatures, rain and even hailstones!

We were very well represented in the strokeplay with Ailsa Summers qualifying 5th with impressive rounds of 79 and 77.

Jacqueline Sneddon and Jemma Chalmers both qualified for the championship matchplay stages. Jemma followed a disappointing 97 with a very gutsy 76.

Jacqueline and Ailsa were beaten in the first round. Ailsa was beaten by Jemma in a super game where Jemma capitalised on early mistakes by Ailsa and then held on despite a spirited 3 under par inward half from Ailsa to win by 1 hole.

Heather Munro and Ashley Alston both qualified for the second flight Clark Rosebowl also a scratch matchplay event.

Ashley was beaten by the eventual winner in the first round but Heather played her usual “straight down the middle” game and won a close semi final on the 19th to reach the final. Heather was beaten by one hole. She played the final in 3 over par so was very happy with the way she played.

Well done to them all!

In the other Semi Final, a close fought game between Kathleen and Katie Reid, saw Kathleen pull away in the back 9 to win 3&2. Kathleen was 1 over par for the holes played.

In the handicap Championship, Ruth Adamson won a very exciting final against Alice Leiper at the 19th.
